Our Program

Guided by the children’s natural interests, our project-based approach spans all the major areas of development: Language, literacy, cognition, socio-emotional and physical. While often embedded within play, the teachers help the children turn curiosity into hands-on learning experiences. Our goal is to instill a lifelong love of learning through nurturing every aspect of your child’s development.

Our school’s method of teaching and interacting with children is an eclectic style that is inspired by several different approaches.

  • Christian Foundation and Values

  • Reggio Emilia Inspired

  • Project Approach

  • Play-Based learning

We believe children learn through discovery and wonder. Play is an integral part of the classroom, encompassing all your child's learning activities. Our qualified and caring staff will provide a quality environment that will enhance your child's self-esteem, guide your child's learning, and aid in the development of social and educational skills necessary for future learning.

While our program revolves around your child's individual needs and interest, we believe that education should also include a focus on his/her relationship to God and to a community of others. Our curriculum emphasizes the love and grace of Jesus for every person which they learn in the classroom and in chapel time with Pastor Joel. We also emphasize development of your child's social skills, including building friendships, respect for others, conflict resolution, and advocating for one's needs and ideas. Our goal is to promote a God-given sense of self-worth and problem solving abilities, which help children gain the confidence to face new experiences.

Our Reggio Emilia inspired philosophy is based on principles of respect, responsibility, and community through exploration and discovery in a supportive and enriching environment.

We accept enrollment for 2 - 5 year olds.

Chapel

Chapel occurs once a week, switching off days, so every child gets a chance to attend. We move from our classrooms over to the Church so we can have a special place dedicated to this important time. We focus on developmentally appropriate Bible stories and topics, and emphasizing the fruits of the spirit: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Faithfulness and Self-Control. Pastor Joel leads Chapel, and the children have a chance to pray, sing, and share their own stories of love and joy.

Chapel Schedule 2023-2024

"On our way to St. Mark's Preschool this morning, my son mentioned that at his previous preschool kids were put in time-outs if they did not share. When I asked him what happens at St. Mark's when children have a hard time sharing, he quickly replied "The teachers help you." This really embodies the character of St. Mark's Preschool. After over a year at this amazing school, I have seen the staff nurture the natural development of my child. Children learn through intuitive exploration and are championed for the unique little people that they are. It continues to be an environment of "yes" in a world of "no." I have joked that I wish my son could graduate high school from this school. As a high school teacher myself, I cannot say enough about the love and creativity fostered at St. Mark's Preschool."
